No entertainment tax for IPL in Maharashtra
IPL 3 has opened in Mumbai, and will close there. Maharashtra will host 14 of the 60 scheduled matches of this multi-crore extravagance, but the state will gain little. Strangely, the Maharashtra government has given up on charging IPL entertainment tax.

For the second straight year, the Internal Revenue Service is reaching out to folks in financial trouble. The agency plans to hold 1,000 open houses on Saturdays, including a couple in Everett, where taxpayers can work out their payment problems with IRS officials.
